EIGENWIJS LANDGRAAF. Spacious-Minds designed the entire space, and trained the caregivers in well-being (see Products for rationale behind each design product). In this project, we started with a very old (1800s) building that was originally used as a government building.  Working alongside an architect, we converted it into a daycare, where walls were moved, and rooms were created to flow into one another.

We wanted occupants to experience cohesion across the daycare space, yet individuality, which we solved by creating designs and products that were consistent across the rooms, with some splashes of creativity in some spaces, for example, a child bathroom that produced a “blue immersive” experience. The red-ribbon ceremony for this daycare was accompanied by a lecture by Dr. Dobkins on the science of well-being and spaces.
